【Product details】

This Edo-period iron tsuba (sword guard) is crafted in a round shape and features an openwork design depicting three folding fans. In Japanese culture, the fan symbolizes prosperity, growth, and the unfolding of good fortune, as its shape opens outward like a blooming flower.

The tsuba is fitted with a copper sekigane (fitting insert) and shows signs of wear and rust due to age. Additionally, the fabric inside the paulownia box has some staining. Please refer to the photographs to assess its condition.

Dimensions: approx. H 7.6 cm W 7.6 cm D 0.4 cm
