Volkswagen - T3 Caravelle Taxi - 1989

The Volkswagen T3 Caravelle offered here is in excellent condition and has a great provenance. Originally delivered in the Netherlands, this vehicle was first used as a taxi, featuring rare factory seating for nine passengers—a configuration seldom seen today. The Caravelle comes from a family with a history in the taxi business, which was founded in 1927 by the father of the current owner. Passed down from father to son, the family not only operated their taxi company but also maintained a private collection of vehicles on the side. This Caravelle became part of that collection after its time as a working taxi and has remained with the family ever since. It is still considered a first-owner vehicle, having been meticulously cared for and always stored indoors. The vehicle retains its original paintwork, and the bodywork and chassis are straight, solid, and completely rust-free. Mechanically, the Caravelle is in excellent condition. The engine and gearbox operate smoothly, while the suspension, shock absorbers, and drivetrain are all in good working order. No leaks, unusual noises, or mechanical issues have been reported. The interior remains fully original and exceptionally well-preserved. The leather seats, dashboard, and accessories—including the Blaupunkt radio and air conditioning—are all functional. All seatbelts are intact and in good condition. This vehicle comes with documentation, including: Original manuals and booklets Maintenance invoices Blaupunkt radio instructions A valuation report appraising the vehicle at €33,000 A detailed account of its unique history The vehicle is being sold as-is and is available for inspection. Assistance with international transportation can be arranged upon request.
