A nice copy of this large and comprehensive encyclopaedia of Judaica.
First English Edition.
Complete in 16 volumes including index. There is a 17th volume which is a year book for 1973.
This is a first edition, complete set of this work. There are sets for sale with more volumes, but that is because they have added later year books to them.
Blue hardback with gilt titles. Attractive hebrew design to the boards. This is repeated to the end papers.
A touch of rubbing to the bindings only. Fractional fading to the top edge. Internally clean and tidy throughout. Volume 2 has a very light water mark to the end paper - otherwise an excellent set.
Attractive large colour map of Israel loosely held in a pocket to the rear of volume one - in excellent condition.
Its general editors were, successively, Cecil Roth and Geoffrey Wigoder. Advertisers describe it as the result of about three decades of study and research by about 2,200 contributors and 250 editors around the world.
Apologies for the extremely high shipping. This set weighs almost 60KG packed, and will need two or three large boxes to send.

We are professional booksellers based in France, and have been members of ILAB for many years. We currently hold full membership of SLAM, as well as other organisations. We also sell at fairs and markets across Europe.
We are often found at brocantes and marches, searching for books and prints. We are also always interested in acquiring new stock from individuals, so if you have books or prints to sell, do get in touch.
We are proud to purchase biodegradable packaging and materials. Where possible, all of our book wrap and tape are compostable or re-cyclable. If you do receive any plastic bubble wrap from us - it is because we are re-using items we have received.
