Heirloom!
A true relic from the early days oft he sherry trade <
Flawless, original intact upper seal (Picture: 6 and 10) <
From an inheritance (I don't drink alcohol), to be given to a lover or connoisseur. This is a Lustau Almacenista 1918 that was matured by Pilar Aranda y Latorre. At the top of the label it clearly says Añada 1918 and then Solera-matured by ... as it originates from a Solera started in 1918, and it is not of one vintage year. As well the label states 1|39, which means it was blended from 39 of the best barrels of the individual reserves of the time.
Lustau has kindly confirmed that the Solera was introduced in 1918 and the wine was bottled at a time when labeling was not as regulated as it is today.
Information: Age/Origin:
"ALMACENISTA" literally means "Storage Keeper". The tiny cellars of the Almacenistas are famous for their treasures: Valuable Sherries from classic vineyards, which mature Unblended and untouched SLOWLY...
Through painstaking research by LUSTAU, small quantities of the finest of these sherry wines were tracked down and bottled without any cellar treatment. The labels of each of these rare bottles show both the name of the Almacenista and the number of barrels that could be bottled from the total stock!
Extra:
The wood box is not originaly related tot he bottle and therefore not part oft he auction.
