Here it is beautifully elaborated pair of okimonos of sheep and owl, by notable artist Tsuda Eiju.
Tsuda Eiju (1915-2001) studied under famous imperial artist Tsuda Shinobu (1875-1946), who adopted him as his heir. He was accepted by the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition (Nitten) many times and received a grand prize in 1962. Tsuda Eiju is considered a most influential Japanese bronze caster of the second half of the 20th century. Eiju is known primarily for his bronze vases, but the animal theme is also a popular one with this artist.
Dimensions: 14,5 x 4 x 10 cm and 6 x 6 x 12cm
Very good condition, there are minor signs of wear from age and normal use, marks, scratches, dirt; please, take a look at pictures for actual condition.
