The story of Esther

Between 1736 and 1742, the painter Jean-François de Troy (1679-1752) produced seven cartoons that were used as models by the Gobelins to weave the story of Esther into seven panels. Esther was a young Jewish orphan who became Queen of Persia by marrying King Ahasuerus. She protected the Jewish people in exile from extermination.

Rectangular painted canvas, 167 cm x 125 cm

Good condition.
Small localised defects (see arrow in the last photo), of no importance. Otherwise, colours a little faded, limited yellowing
