Large antique gilded wooden sculptured Kannon statue with jade eye displayed in a well-made Butsudan, made during Edo period. The gilded surface of the aged wood carving are gorgeous, and this is a piece that was meticulously crafted with each and every stroke of the knife. The eyes of this Kannon statue are slightly opened, her nose is high and her ears are oversized, showing her kindness and tolerance. Her right hand is hanging down with her palm facing outward. Part of her breast is exposed. Her whole body is gilded, magnificent and solemn. Standing on a precisely carved and gilded lotus base, she is sacred and kind, and is admirable. The condition of the Butsudan is very good, there are two fine black-lacquered doors(the interior is painted with gold lacquer) can be open and close smoothly, there is also a slide handle can be keep the door closed very well and fixed. note: the vase in the photo are for reference only and are not for sale. Dimensions: 51 x 15 x 20 cm Good condition, there are stains and wear off due to aging and using, the left hand was missing and partial loss of the right middle finger, please also take a look at the listed photos for a reference.
