Rare mid-century Roth ceramic vase in vivid purple outlined with bubbly white and black fat lava glaze. Referred to as the "Banjo Vase", the vase was designed by Dorothea Roth. It was manufactured in West Germany by ROTH ceramics factory in 1970s and carries a model number 313. The vase features an exquisite modernist design and is hand-painted. These vases were produced in five colors and the purple color is a rare one. Only a limited amount of the vases were produced in this color, therefore the vase is highly collectable. The vase is a truly iconic piece from the fat lava era of 1970’s and one of the finest examples of fat lava vases by Roth Keramik, West Germany. A rare piece for an exquisite collection.
