Summary:
Sharp Katana made by Hojoji Masahiro(法成寺正弘) ranked as Shin-To(新刀)'s Jo-saku(上作). Some parts of the koshirae and blades are damaged, but the overall workmanship is extremely good. The design of Tsuba is particularly original, and we invite you to take a look at the photos.

It is certified by NBTHK as “Tokubetsu Kicho Token(特別貴重刀剣)”. The certificate paper is included in the set.

About Hojoji Masahiro(法成寺正弘):
Hojoji Masahiro is the founder of the “Edo Hojoji School(江戸法城寺派)” after moving to Edo from Tajima Province (present-day northern Hyogo Prefecture).

He was the leader of the “Edo shinto(江戸新刀, a generic name for swords made in the Edo period, characterized by their ability to cut well)” and also demonstrated his ability to form factions. He united dozens of swordsmiths.

His power was so great that he was allowed to perform all kinds of blacksmithing work for the Edo shogunate.

The style is full of the Edo shintō style, with a tapered shape with a shallow warp. Hamon is characterized by “Gunomi-Midare(互の目乱)” and “Hiro-Suguha(広直刃)” with “Nie-Hon-i(沸本位)”.

This sword has all of these characteristics and is certified by the NBTHK as a typical Hojoji Masahiro piece. It is recommended for those who are looking for a sharp cutting Edo Katana.

Export of Japanese swords from Japan to other countries is restricted. Depending on the situation of the shipping company and your country of residence, it may not be possible to ship. We will of course do our best to send the item, but if no carrier is available, we have no choice but to cancel the transaction. (So far we have been able to transport them without any problems in most cases.)

Regardless of the carrier's situation, China and Russia are banned from importing Japanese swords.

Seller's Story

Serious and reactive seller, had doubts at first when I saw the few evaluations, but there you’ll have the proof that quality is better than quantity. Would totally recommend!
