Watch a video of this specimen by following the Vimeo link below: https://vimeo.com/1026827653 Here is a very good descloizite specimen from the famous Berg Aukas mine, displaying two different crystal habits: first the usual and beautiful sculptural 'fir-style' crystals caused by dendritic growth, and second, on the other side of the specimen, thick keg-shaped prismatic crystals! Very unusual! A great Namibian classic, Berg Aukas is undoubtedly the best locality worldwide for this rather rare lead and zinc vanadate species, named after the famous XIXth century French mineralogist Alfred des Cloizeaux, pioneer of modern descriptive mineralogy and Alfred Lacroix's teacher.
