Moroccan artisans continue the long tradition of creating beautiful pieces from the roots and branches of the rare Thuya tree. This wood is found only in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco.
The Thuya tree is known for the rich golden and brown tones of its grain and its unique exotic fragrance, similar to cedarwood.
This rare wood is a conifer native to the western foothills of the Atlas Mountains in North Africa. Thuya trees are found in the Atlas Mountains and nowhere else on earth.
Handmade, using the roots of the tree or its branches, giving the colors a range from rich, glossy golden-brown to almost black.
Made of aromatic Thuya wood, in the city of Essaouira in Morocco.
Each piece is handcrafted and hand-polished for hours.
Lemon juice and vegetable oil are polished into the wood, revealing the natural burl grain of Thuya.
