A superb bychrome ceramic moche spouted jar. The body with the shape of an anthropomorphic owl depicted seated, with the hands resting on his knees; plumage in detail on the face with thin, slanted eyes and prominent nose. Late Moche, Peru, 450-700 C
Height: 20.7 cm
Condition: Excellent condition.
Provenance: Kemper Collection, Switzerland. Donated to "The Museum of Islamic Art", Jerusalem, during 1970's. Purchased by Yossef Maiman 1991. Estate of Yossef Maiman.
