Great Britain - Queen Victoria Departmental Officials, Gibbons CV £2250+ (2018)

An interesting and often hard to find selection of 9 GB Queen Victoria overprints. These overprints are known as Departmental Officials and were issued for use by certain Government Departments from 1882 up to 1902. All the stamps intended for official use were overprinted by Thomas De La Rue & Co and were not avaliable to the general public via Post Offices. In Queen Victoria's reign only 5 Government Departments had official overprinted stamps as follows:
*Inland Revenue (IR Official)
*Office of Works (OW Official)
*Army (Army Official)
*Government Parcels (Govt Parcels)
*Board of Education

These are mostly from my late fathers collection, and include the hard to find versions of the 1 Shilling dull-green (SG015) CV £375 and the scarce 1 Shilling Green & Carmine (SG019) CV £1800.(Stanley Gibbons 2018)
