American swamp rock singer, songwriter and guitarist. He was born July 23, 1943 in Oak Grove, Louisiana and died October 24, 2018 in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee.
Best known for his song 'Polk Salad Annie' which peaked at #8 on the Billboard chart, and was covered by Elvis Presley. In 1969 Brook Benton recorded his song 'Rainy Night In Georgia', and this version reached #4 on the Billboard chart. In 1989 Tina Turner released 'Steamy Windows' as a single. Her version peaked at #40 on the US Billboard top 100. It was also a moderate hit across Europe and in Australia and New Zealand.

My name is Hans Kesteloo and I finally decided to sell my ‘remaining’ collection of 45’s, LP’s, CD’s, DVD’s, laserdiscs and other odd things after more than 58 years of ‘hardcore’ collecting. I purchased my first 45 in 1965, and this was the beginning of an enjoyable, long-time hobby – a real-time “collector’s career”. Now time has come to pass the baton !

I never ever wrote that this album is an original first pressing made in 1968. This is not correct. This record was recorded in 1968. The music was made in 1968. First release was 1968. There are 852 different pressings of this album, and since it would took me hours to find out in which year this one was made I mentioned the Matrix/Dead Wax information for the person interested to check him- her-self. You bought and after receiving you checked on this? Do this before purchasing. That's why I mentioned this in the description. Please delete or change this feedback. There is nothing to blame me. Description is correct.
