Azelia Barolo DOCG 2016 - Product Description

Azelia, a leading winery in Castiglione Falletto, has been crafting exceptional Barolo wines for over 100 years. Now run by Luigi Scavino, with his son Lorenzo in the mix, Azelia sources its grapes from top crus in Barolo, including Solanotto and Altenasso (30%) in Castiglione Falletto, and Broglio, Cerrati, Bricco Voghera, and Cerretta (70%) in Serralunga d’Alba. The vineyards, with vines around 50 years old, are located at 250-370 meters above sea level on clay-rich, limestone soils.

The wine ferments for 40-45 days at 31°C with gentle punch-downs for smooth extraction. It then matures for 24 months in large oak barrels (Slavonian, French, and Austrian oak). Unfiltered and unclarified, Azelia Barolo 2016 showcases the power, elegance, and complexity of the Barolo region, offering a timeless expression of Nebbiolo.

We open the OWC and pack it in bubble wrap; the bottles are packed in UPS certified boxes.
