Saint Luke is considered a living saint, wandering among people and helping thousands to get rid of their pains and illnesses. St. Luke, unlike most saints, did not live in some distant, long-gone era, but was a man of the modern world. He is the most ordinary person. Father of 4 children, surgeon and artist. But what he does in his lifetime falls into the world of wonder.
Like the apostle Luke, whose name he takes, he was also a physician, artist, and writer. He left behind a number of books devoted to medicine and the spiritual life. One of his most popular and valuable works is the book "Spirit, Soul and Body" as well as his "Essays on Purulent Surgery". He not only performed miracles during his life but also after his death. The pilgrims who go to his grave claim that received miraculous healings. On November 22, 1995, the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church included Saint Luke of Crimea among the ranks of officially venerated saints. And in 2000, he was officially recognized as a saint by the Russian Orthodox Church as well.
