The 2011 Fonçalette from Emmanuel Reynaud is a distinctive and characterful red wine from the southern Rhône, known for its unique expression of terroir and winemaking artistry. Crafted primarily from Grenache, with possible touches of Syrah and Cinsault, this wine offers a complex and aromatic profile. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe red fruits like cherry, plum, and raspberry, intertwined with notes of garrigue, dried herbs, licorice, and hints of earthy spice. The palate is beautifully textured, with a medium to full body, showcasing a blend of concentrated fruit flavors, savory elements, and a touch of peppery spice. Soft, integrated tannins provide structure, while a balanced acidity keeps the wine lively and fresh. The finish is long and nuanced, with echoes of red fruit and herbs that linger elegantly. This 2011 vintage of Fonçalette exemplifies Emmanuel Reynaud’s commitment to producing wines with depth, complexity, and a true sense of place. Ideal for pairing with grilled meats, hearty stews, or Mediterranean-inspired dishes.
