This nice restrung necklace showcases an array of ancient stone beads in various shapes and colours, including vibrant reds, greens, purples, and oranges. At its central point rests a small wedjat eye amulet, crafted from carnelian stone.
The Eye of Horus, also known as the Wedjat or Udjat, holds profound significance in ancient Egyptian mythology. Its origin is deeply rooted in the myth of Osiris and Seth, where Horus, the son of Osiris, avenges his father's murder by engaging in a fierce battle with Seth. During the conflict, Seth gouges out Horus's eye, later restored through the divine intervention of Thoth, the god of wisdom. Worn as a protective amulet, the Eye of Horus symbolized healing, regeneration, and divine protection.
