Chartreuse - Liqueur du 9ème Centenaire - b. 2023 - b. 2020s - 70cl

Chartreuse Liqueur Du 9° Centenenaire 2023 The 9th centenary liqueur was created in 1984 to commemorate the 9th centenary of the founding of the Great Charterhouse in 1084. A subtle blend of aged liqueurs. A high-end liqueur, the subtle blend and perfect balance give it great finesse in the mouth. It is presented in an anniversary bottle, identical to the one used in the last century, with an identification number. Liqueur du 9° Centenaire Chartreuse is a limited bottling: a few pieces each year to celebrate the foundation of the order, born in 1084. It is a blend of several Chartreuse and bears the bottle number and the vintage of bottling. Ages at least 3 years in large oak casks To be enjoyed neat, with the glass slightly chilled. Perfect when paired with blue cheeses. 1084 was the founding year of the order of Carthusian fathers, one of the oldest in the monastic world, founded by Saint Bruno, born in Cologne in 1030. An esteemed professor at the cathedral school of Reims, having reached the peak of his fame, he decided to follow his Vocation and abandon the world and all privileges to dedicate himself to monastic life. He set out on the path accompanied by six friends and after numerous attempts that were unsatisfactory to him, he arrived in Grénoble, attracted by the reputation of the young bishop Hugues. He told of having seen in a dream God building a dwelling at the heart of a mountain called Chartreuse, in a place so sparsely inhabited as to be called 'the desert', seven stars pointed the way to this place. The sight of the arrival of Bruno and his six friends was interpreted as Divine Providence's response to this dream, and it was to this place that they were led. It was in 1084 that Bruno found the place he was looking for. He quickly built a system of cells connected by a gallery, together with structures where fraternal community life could be cultivated, a fundamental element, St Bruno thought, especially considering the rigours of life in solitude. The Order of the Pères Chartreux was born here. 47° - 70 cl. The PHOTOGRAPHED and NUMBERED bottle will be the one actually sent to the final buyer Shipping will be in special POLYSTYrene packaging to protect against shocks and temperature changes. I DO NOT ship to the Turkey and Corsica.
