Sino-Mongolian or Sino-Siberian Jade Ciccada Insect Monster - 68 mm

A jade cicada monster talisman from the ancient Western Asiatic culture, Sino-Mongolian or Sino-Siberian. Second millennium AD.

In good condition. It has been cleaned in a tumbler, so they surfaces is shiny and smooth, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient hand cutting, carving, boring and grinding. Traces of use and age on its surface.

Purchased in 1983/Budapest by Dr. Zelnik from the collection of a former ambassador in Mongolia.
