This charming sculpture of the Madonna with Child was designed in 1929 by Stef Uiterwaal
(1889-1960) for Glasfabriek Leerdam. The sculpture is made of opaque glass with a luxury
satin finish and was the first work carried out by Uiterwaal for the factory in Leerdam.
The Madonna has an impressed signature on the back of the figure "G S U L" (Stef Uiterwaal - Glasfabriek Leerdam). An interesting effect can be created by placing the figure on a white or coloured lamp. (See photos). (This small lamp is not included (but very inexpensive to buy).
This sculpture of the Madonna with Child was made in two sizes. This example is the smallest measuring 24cm. high and weighs 650 grams.
The condition is near MINT with only very slight scratching on the base due to movement.
Careful packaging will ensure a safe delivery (see my feedback on Catawiki).

Hallo Jeanne, Ik heb in vingerhoeden gehandeld in de jaren 1980/90. De vergulde vingerhoed van Willem van Oranje werd speciaal voor mij gemaakt door Pako, in deze vergulde uitvoering zijn er vrijwel zeker niet meer dan 100 gemaakt.
