Condition:
Half bound green leather with marbled front and back boards.
Binding A.F. coverboard detached and holding with tape, generally in fairly condition with rubbing to head, tail, corners and gilt lettering .
Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners, and rub wear all over.
Includes illustrated plates, title page and frontispiece by H K Browne, all present as expected.
First edition errata issue points on pXIV, 317, 371 and 469-473.
Pages are moderately tanned and variably foxed throughout, heavier at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Some occasional stains to text which remains legible.
Plates tanned with heavy foxing and marking, all plates exhibit in the lot.
Little or no actual loss of material so could benefit from restored.
625 pages, dimension : 22.0 x 15.0 cm.
