Softicated, was founded in Geneva in 2018 by Cyril Rumpler, the artistic director and designer of the brand’s collections. Starting from a single line or a perspective, he allows his imagination to flourish without stylistic constraints but with real sensitivity to the organic curves found in nature. Their pieces of furniture, lighting and rugs are all unveiled at the display. Self-taught, Cyril wants his objects to astonish by the detail, to reveal a difference. Cyril Rumpler creates intimate pieces of furniture. The dimensions are generous, they must ensure the greatest comfort of use while seducing by the form. His main source of inspiration is Nature and more specifically soft inspirations directly from Nature. By creating Softicated, a furniture, lighting and rugs brand, Cyril Rumpler was inspired by organic, simple and harmonious curves of Nature: Human, animals, leaves, relief, ... His second source of inspiration, to a lesser extent, are everyday products, from everyday life: Signet Ring, Saddlebags, Bento box… He often has an initial idea, a first mental image. During the creation phase, other concepts may appear. He usually starts with a simple form, which he gradually builds up. From preliminary sketch to detailed design, he works by hand and always starts his creations with a curve then with a line. The objects Cyril creates are associations of generous dimensions for ease of use and clean lines. The lines are always refined for the sake of tranquility. The starting point is the shaping of the material to give a feeling of tranquility, appeasement, balance and comfort in generous and reassuring dimensions. An emotion, the awakening of the senses also exhales these objects, challenged by details unique to each creation. As you can see, he creates pieces of furniture with timeless trends not influenced by fashions. We can talk about modern elegance and symmetry. Cyril Rumpler said: "You can linger and still find something interesting to look at, from any angle, even the least visible, that's what gives these objects personality." Limiting the number of manufacturing steps of an object and recycling are major components of its design and manufacturing specifications.
