Ancient Roman Gold Exquisite Ring with an Outstanding Red Jasper Intaglio with an Image of Gryllos Head of Satyr & Eagle. Very elegant ring secondary inlaid the outstanding beautifully shaped ancient roman red jasper intaglio of the finest style originally on an iron ring still on its original bezel. Normally none of the intaglio collectors dont remove an intaglio from an iron ring because of the risk of damage plus the iron bezels are a perfect sign of authenticity of the intaglios. Gryllos- a mythological creature a not existing in reality in that case a bald, bearded satyr with an eagle. Intaglio with perfect edges, intact and still wearable ring with , nice yellow color of the gold contrasting with the "bloody" red jasper colour of the intaglio. Extremely Rare in this style and superb grade- still Wearable.
