Mercedes 500SL.

Deze specifieke SL500 uit 1998 straalt luxe en verfijning uit, gehuld in de originele Brilliant Silver Metallic (744O) lak, gecombineerd met een zwart nappa-lederen interieur Leather - Gray(268A). Met slechts 78.026 mijlen op de teller en een vlekkeloze Carfax-historie, biedt deze auto niet alleen visuele pracht, maar ook een solide technische staat. De combinatie van deze lage kilometerstand en de kenmerkende elegantie van de R129 maakt deze SL500 een uitzonderlijke keuze voor elke autoliefhebber.

De R129-serie, die zijn debuut maakte in 1989, kreeg in 1996 een ingrijpende facelift voor het modeljaar 1997. Deze facelift introduceerde een reeks technologische innovaties die de SL500 naar een nieuw niveau van luxe en gebruiksgemak tilden. Een van de meest baanbrekende opties die toen werd geïntroduceerd, was het panoramadak. Dit dak creëerde een gevoel van openheid en ruimtelijkheid in de cabine, waardoor het rijden in deze SL500 nog aangenamer werd. 

Maar dat was niet het enige hoogtepunt. Deze facelift bracht ook nieuwe standaardfuncties zoals automatische regensensoren voor de ruitenwissers, die de bestuurder ontlasten tijdens slecht weer, en een drievoudig programmeerbare garageopener ("HomeLink") geïntegreerd in de achteruitkijkspiegel, wat het gebruiksgemak thuis of op kantoor verhoogt. 

Het klimaatcontrolesysteem werd verbeterd met een groter en duidelijker LCD-scherm, en de auto was uitgerust met een passagiersdetectiesysteem dat automatisch de rechterairbag uitschakelde als het gewicht op de stoel minder dan 26 pond was. Dit maakte de SL500 niet alleen een comfortabele, maar ook een bijzonder veilige auto.

Wat deze SL500 echter exclusiever maakt, is de aanwezigheid van een uiterst zeldzame en zeer gewilde optie: de 415 GLASS ROOF (R129). Dit glazen dak biedt een luxueuze rijervaring door meer natuurlijk licht binnen te laten, waardoor de cabine lichter en ruimer aanvoelt. Daarnaast versterkt het glazen dak de sportieve en elegante uitstraling van de auto, en is het een van de meest gezochte kenmerken onder liefhebbers en verzamelaars van de R129-serie.
