Vintage Arita porcelain incense burner by Fujii Shumei (1936-2017).

The body is colored in "Tenmoku" black glaze, and decorated with silver-color plum blossoms. The lid is adorned with three cut-outs that are shaped like a flower. Singed by the artist on the base.

Fujii Shumei is an Arita-ware potter from Saga, the birthplace of Arita and Imari porcelain. His works were not only accepted at numerous art exhibitions both domestic and international, but also purchased as gifts for diplomatic goodwill.
