Stanislav Škulina, a Czech photographer, embarked on many journeys on the African continent between 1927 and 1961. He had an audience with Emperor Haile Selassie and explored remote regions by motorcycle, camel, and boat. His later expeditions focused on ethnographic and entomological research. After World War II, he settled in Nairobi, where he established a Pegas Studios and lived until his death in 1961. His legacy, including photographs and travel documents, is preserved in the Bata Museum in Zlín, Czech Republic and several US and UK museums.
