Piastraia is a Tuscan red wine that was born in the mind of Michele Satta in 1991. In that year Michele decided to combine the expression of the great international vines of Bolgheri – Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon – with the elegance of all of Tuscany embodied by Sangiovese and the Mediterranean nature brought by Syrah. This is how this Bolgheri Rosso was born, which can boast the honor of being labeled Superiore. The must of each grape ferments separately, thanks to the presence of native yeasts, in truncated cone-shaped oak barrels. After racking, the wine goes directly into French wooden barriques, where it remains to mature for a period of between 18 and 24 months. A high-level bottle that never disappoints.
