age of 15 and became a disciple of woodblock sculptor Rikichi Muto. Eventually, he worked at the Yomiuri News company instead of his, carved illustrations and studied woodcuts, and studied art at the Takahashi Western Painting Laboratory, led by Kiyoteru Kuroda.

This work is a collection of art works commemorating the 200th anniversary of Chikamatsu Monzaemon, the founder of the Kabuki Screenwriter
He was a Japanese-style painter born in Kyoto. He studied painting under Seiho Takeuchi (竹内栖鳳). Suisyo married Seiho’s daughter. He was active in Bun-ten (文展: the Japan Art Academy Exhibition) and Tei-ten (帝展:the Japan Fine Art Exhibition)
He founded a painting school, Seiko-sya(青甲社).
