A nicely carved seated wooden 迦诺迦伐蹉尊者 Arhat kanakavatsa statue. Arhat kanakavatsa is depicted seated and holding a chain in is right hand. The left hand depicting the Apāna Mudra, psychic gesture of life force. He is traditionally revered for his wisdom and ability to understand the teachings of the Buddha.

Kanakavatsa was born to wealthy parents, and simultaneously, one of his father's elephants gave birth to a calf that produced gold. As he grew up, he and the elephant calf were constant companions. The king commanded that he give the elephant to him, which Kanakavatsa willingly did. However the elephant always came back to him. Realizing that such wealth only created discord, he sought ordination from the Buddha and joined the Sangha, eventually becoming an arhat.

Kanakavatsa dwells in Kashmir on the Saffron Hill with 500 arhats. He holds a chain of precious stones given to him by the nagas which endow great memory, self-confidence and wisdom. Those devoted to him will never be separated from their teachers and will be respected by all.

The Arhat has multiple inscriptions on it's base, some of them too difficult to read:

第二尊者 迦諾迦伐蹉尊者

第二尊者 (Daini Sonja): "The second honored one" or "the second disciple."

迦諾迦伐蹉尊者 (Kanaka Bassa Sonja): This is the Japanese transliteration of Kanakavatsa, one of the sixteen Arhats (disciples of the Buddha).

Dimension:
Height: 16 x 10 Width cm

Condition: In reasonable condition, some small damages, wear, collected dirt and one foot is missing. The pictures give more details about the condition. The lot is sold "as is".

Shipping method: The items will be securely packaged and shipped with insurance.

Parfait, mais j'aurais aimé avoir un coffret d'emballage pour cette belle théière. Je m'interroge sur la véritable datation de cette théière. quel est le thé qui a été utilisé avec cette théière ?
