Johann Jungblut was born in Sarrebourg in April of 1860, although in 1885 he made the German city of Dusseldorf his home.
He was a solitary figure who lived alone, he made frequent trips to Holland to paint, specialising Winter scenes infused with tranquil light.
Today the museums of Brooklyn and Mayence display his work.

Jungblut was inspired by the Dutch artists painting focused heavily on old Dutch models.

Painted foggy winter landscapes on Dutch waters with low standing sun impressionistic were his specialty.

He often painted in this way also Norwegian fjords and other motifs.
