【Product details】

This collection features seven exquisite tea caddies from the Showa era, each accompanied by a silk pouch. Three of the pieces bear the pottery seals of renowned ceramic artists Nakamura Toroku, Kageyama Akishi, and Kato Tokuro. The remaining four are unsigned.

Nakamura Toroku 中村陶六 (1914–2004): Born in Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture, Nakamura studied under Kaneshige Toyo in 1945 and established his own kiln, Rokurogama, in 1961. Celebrated for his unique "Nakamura family scarlet" glaze, he was designated a Traditional Craftsman in 1986 and is revered as the "God of Sake Vessels."

Kageyama Akishi 景山明志 (b. 1950): A native of Shizuoka Prefecture, Kageyama graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts in 1975 and completed his postgraduate studies in ceramics in 1977. He honed his skills under Fujimoto Nodo, a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property for overglaze enamel porcelain. In 1984, he established his own kiln in Ibaraki Prefecture and became an active member of the Japan Kogei Association.

Each tea caddy comes with a resin lid. While most of the lids are in good condition, some show wear and some discoloration. A few of the tea caddies have slight stains on their bottoms. Please refer to the photos for a detailed view of each item's condition.
