Ancient Central Asian Jasper Horse Bead Seal Talisman - 28 mm

A jasper bead seal talisman depicting a horse from the ancient Central Asian culture.

First millennium AD .

In good condition. It has been cleaned in a tumbler, so its surface is shiny and smooth, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, grinding. The holes are ancient, hand-made, irregular, but have been over drilled with modern techniques to make the piece wearable when the ancient holes obstructed. Traces of use and age on its surface.

Purchased mid 90's in Paris by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market.
