Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig (1866-1937)

Shortly before the outbreak of the First World War, the Grand Duke of Hesse founded the Order of the Star of Brabant as an order of merit for "public servants, works of charity and efforts serving the general welfare". The order was awarded in numerous classes, which began with the Grand Cross. This was followed by a two-class Grand Commander's Cross, a two-class Cross of Honour and a Knight's Cross 1st and 2nd Class. All classes could also be awarded with a crown.
The present Commander's Cross 1st Class is an order symbol made of grey enamel with gold border. In the corners of the arms of the cross, which widen towards the outside, there is a golden double ring with two golden balls each. The central, golden medallion is decorated in a radial shape. Its surrounding ring is enamelled in turquoise.

Superbe réplique d'une médaille difficile à trouver, très rapidement et très bien protégée, comme d'habitude avec ce vendeur. Transaction idéale. Un tout grand merci.
