De Datsun 240Z, ook wel bekend als de Nissan Fairlady Z in Japan, debuteerde in 1969. Ontworpen om te concurreren met de Europese sportwagens van die tijd, zoals de Porsche 911 en de Jaguar E-Type, bood de 240Z een vergelijkbare stijl en prestaties tegen een fractie van de prijs. Met zijn gestroomlijnde vorm, lange motorkap en korte achtersteven belichaamde de 240Z het concept van een betaalbare maar toch verfijnde sportwagen.

Deze Datsun 240Z uit 1972 is een schitterend voorbeeld van het model, met zorg technisch en optisch onder handen genomen en gemoderniseerd zonder zijn klassieke charme te verliezen. De auto is opnieuw gespoten in een prachtige zilveren kleur die niet alleen zijn elegante lijnen accentueert, maar ook een elegante uitstraling geeft. Het contrast met het rode interieur creëert een opvallende en stijlvolle combinatie.

Binnenin vinden we een authentieke uitstraling met originele elementen zoals het stuur en het dashboard. Het interieur is voorzien van nieuwe rode vinyl bekleding, exclusief de hemelbekleding, nieuwe stoelhoezen, tapijten, en een nieuwe versnellingspook die perfect in de hand ligt.

Op technisch gebied is de auto volledig onder handen genomen, met de volgende upgrades en restauraties:

Koelsysteem: Een oversized aluminium radiator, dubbele elektrische koelventilatoren en een volledig gerestaureerde brandstoftank met nieuwe brandstofslangen en vulbuis, zorgen voor optimale prestaties en betrouwbaarheid, zelfs onder zware omstandigheden.

Motor en aandrijving: Voorzien van een elektronische ontsteking en een elektrische brandstofpomp, samen met een op maat gemaakt headersysteem en een 2-1/2" uitlaatsysteem, waardoor niet alleen de prestaties, maar ook het geluid van de auto verbeterd is. De carburateurs zijn professioneel gereviseerd door Z Therapy, een specialist op dit gebied.

Transmissie en ophanging: De auto is uitgerust met een door The Z-Doctor gebouwde 5-versnellingsbak voor een vlottere en modernere rijervaring. Een nieuwe Center Force dual friction koppeling en nieuwe hoofd- en koppelingslagers zorgen voor probleemloos schakelen. De ophanging is geüpgraded met alle nieuwe poly-urethaan bussen voor een strakke en responsieve rijervaring, en de stuurinrichting is geïnspecteerd en opgefrist voor optimale controle.

Remmen en veiligheid: Nieuwe remschijven, trommels, wielcilinders en remhardware, samen met een nieuwe rembekrachtiger en hoofdremcilinder, zorgen voor uitstekende remprestaties. 

Wielen en banden: De stijlvolle Konig Rewind velgen worden gecompleteerd door nieuwe Cooper CS5 banden, wat niet alleen bijdraagt aan de veiligheid en grip, maar ook aan de klassieke uitstraling van de auto.

Exterieur en verlichting: Naast de nieuwe zilveren lak zijn de koplampen geüpgraded en is de voorgrille gerestaureerd. Nieuwe zijmarkeringen, OEM-voorruit en raamregelaars zorgen voor een frisse look en verbeterde functionaliteit. 

Dit is niet zomaar een auto; het is een stuk rijdende geschiedenis, een eerbetoon aan de innovatie en het vakmanschap van de jaren '70.
