A fine Luristan spearhead featuring a leaf-shaped blade and a prominent raised central midrib. The blade features a curved guard which flares and extends out, almost acting as a socket-like structure. From this opening, a 'rat-tail' tang descends, which would have been inserted into a wooden shaft. Signs of wear as consistent with its age, including chips to the surface, the edges of the blade, and the rounded guard. An attractive green patina and earthly encrustations to the surface.

Luristan bronze comes from the province of Lorestan, renowned in antiquity for its sophisticated metal working techniques. In ancient times a number of nomadic populations, such as the Medes and the Kassites, settled in the area. Excavated items often included weapons, tools, and finials, as well as small amulets and fittings. Early models of spearheads were designed in a flat dagger-like blades with a thin tang which would be used to attach the metal head to a wooden shaft and be tied to the body. Later designs, such as this one, would evolve to provide side support which would allow a more secure attachment to the weapon. Archaeological evidence suggests that the Luristan bronze objects often serve ceremonial functions given their funerary contexts.

Produsul este foarte bun, la fel si pretul de achixitie. In schimb fotmalitatile vamale in Romania sunt complicate.

Everything was ok with the Roman collar. It was a present and my friend was delightful with it. The only thing is the IMPORT TAXES from UK to Spain. This affected to final price and the delivery time.
