An enriched copy of the rare original edition of this classical biography. In the reverse of first end-papers is glued a beautiful contemporary drawing of the saint, hand-coloured and eightned in gold on vellum. Most probably it was from an old framed pious image of the saint. The book from the seventeeth century contains also a portrait of the Saint engraved in copper by Nicolas Bazin after Mariette as a frontispiece. Original full calf binding with various damages in the spine, and 2 corners. Internal hinge reiforced with glued paper. Interior good.
