Montblanc - 342 - Fountain pen

This more than 70 year old Montblanc fountain pen was made during the years 1951-1953 and has been lovingly used over time, and is in great working condition! It is deep black with gold trimmings, and has a rare 14 carat gold Broad nib. Please judge for yourselves in the sample writing! The pen draws ink with no problems and is a joy to write with, and the nib flows effortlessly across the paper.

The 342 G line of fountain pens were made by the famous German pen maker from 1951 to 1960. This particular pen is from the first version made with precious resin instead of cellulose, which was made from 1951 to 1953. The cap is marked with "MONT BLANC" in cursive capital letter and has the silhouette of the Montblanc mountain characteristic for the time period. The nib is marked "MONT BLANC, 14 C, Montblanc, 585". The blind cap at the end of the pen is marked with a B, for the broad nib size, and 342 G, signifying the model and that the nib is made from real gold.
