Zapatera Rum is a unique spirit with an interesting backstory. It’s named after Isla Zapatera, a small island in Nicaragua’s vast freshwater Lake Cocibolca. During the Nicaraguan regime, a group of women sought refuge from violence on this island and created a remarkable community. The rum itself reflects craftsmanship and tradition in its production.
