Fabulous service for 6 persons of exquisite Pots-de-Creme/ Chocolate Pots “Rothschild Bird” pattern, well known hand painted pattern with birds perched among branches and scattered insects, gilt banding, in excellent to pristine condition. Each and every detail was meticulously hand painted by Herend expert painters. Each of Pot-de-Creme/ Chocolate Pot, is in fantastic condition, with marvelous strawberry knob lid on each and gilded handles. This pattern was first created in 1850 for the Rothschild family of Europe and is considered to be the epitome of hand painting on porcelain. Twelve different motifs portray a 19th century tale about Baroness Rothschild who lost her pearl necklace in the garden of her Vienna residence. Several days later it was found by her gardener, who saw birds playing with it in a tree. This is an extremely rare set, in excellent to pristine condition, made by Herend - Hungary, in order to dress up dining tables for special meals, meeting the expectations of the most pretentious ones. All cups and saucers are marked with Herend stamp from the period and numbered and all are in excellent condition, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs.
