Il design di questa meravigliosa Grande  Poltrona con braccioli  disegnata da Michael Thonet e  prodotta a partire dalla seconda metà dell'Ottocento fu concepita per rispondere a delle precise esigenze di funzionalità La sedia fu diffusa in tutto il mondo all'inizio del XX secolo.

 La n°18 Maxi è una tra le sedie più iconiche mai realizzate, realizzata per stare dietro ad una scrivania o in un posto importante, viste le dimensioni da Poltona e non da sedia. L’elemento curvato che arricchisce anche la parte centrale dello schienale, aggiunge comfort alla seduta, disponibile in diverse varianti e ne determina al contempo l’inconfondibile profilo. Lo schienale e le gambe posteriori prendono forma da un unico pezzo di legno di Faggio curvato a vapore.

In buone condizioni generali, normali segni dell'età (vedere foto). Restaurata recentemente con trattamento anti tarlo,  e cera per il nutrimento del legno .
