Pat Benatar - Precious Time / Get Nervous - 2 x LP - MINT - 1st JAPAN PRESS - Multiple titles - LP Albums (multiple items) - 1st Pressing, Japanese pressing - 1981

1.) Pat Benatar – Precious Time Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo - 1st Japanese Pressing - 1981 - Japan - Chrysalis – WWS-81440 Media: MINT / Sleeve: MINT A1 Promises In The Dark 4:46 A2 Fire And Ice 3:19 A3 Just Like Me 3:29 A4 Precious Time 6:02 B1 It's A Tuff Life 3:16 B2 Take It Any Way You Want It 2:48 B3 Evil Genius 4:34 B4 Hard To Believe 3:26 B5 Helter Skelter 3:48 The third time was definitely not the charm for Pat Benatar. While her debut and its follow-up, Crimes of Passion, both offered up hit singles and decent album material, Precious Time keeps the formula going without any of the songwriting magic of the first two records. The energy and momentum are there for the majority of the album, and even on the ballads Benatar's voice is in fine form. But there's really nothing new that Benatar has to offer (aside from an amusing cover of the Beatles' "Helter Skelter"), unlike her next album, which would see Benatar growing by leaps and bounds into the pop-friendly rock of the '80s. 2.) Pat Benatar – Get Nervous Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo - 1st Japanese Pressing - 1982 - Japan - Chrysalis – WWS-81532 Media: MINT / Sleeve: MINT A1 Shadows Of The Night 4:20 A2 Looking For A Stranger 3:24 A3 Anxiety (Get Nervous) 3:30 A4 Fight It Out 3:54 A5 The Victim 4:41 B1 Little Too Late 4:06 B2 I'll Do It 4:07 B3 I Want Out 3:42 B4 Tell It To Her 3:40 B5 Silent Partner 3:43 In interviews, Pat Benatar made it clear that she had no desire to be stereotyped as a hard rocker -- often adding that she preferred new wave's melodic keyboards over hard rock and metal's crunching guitars. Indeed, Get Nervous was the most melodic album she'd done since In the Heat of the Night. This isn't to say that Get Nervous was a return to new wave-ish leanings; in fact, songs like "Anxiety (Get Nervous)," "The Victim," and "Silent Partners" are intense, forceful jewels that rock aggressively. But at the same time, the album's pop elements and strong emphasis on melody leave no doubt that the last thing on Benatar's mind was recording another Crimes of Passion. ____________________________________________________________________________ These records have been cleaned with a professional ultrasonic machine.
