Ancient Egyptian Hyksos Period Swivel Ring with Scarab Circa 1750–1550 BC This bronze swivel ring is composed of a D-shaped round-section shank, securely holding a finely rendered steatite scarab between two bulging finials. The scarab is detailed with characteristic features. The flat underside of the scarab is engraved with hieroglyphs, centred around a winged sphinx, a symbol of protection and divine power. The swivel mechanism allows the scarab to rotate, adding a dynamic element to the ring.
