Byzantine Gold Ring with Gem and Pearl Beads
Circa 5th-6th century AD
This lovely gold ring showcases a hexagonal shank. The bezel is designed with a flat, tiered extension supported by elegant scrollwork on the shoulders. The borders of the tiers are encircled with a fine wire adorned with tiny pearl beads. The top of the bezel features a yellow glass gem. The band has been repaired.
Dimensions: Diameter 18.14mm; US Size 8; UK Size P 1/2; weight 7g
Provenance: Private UK Ancient Art Collection formerly acquired on the UK, European, and USA Art Markets from pre-2000 Collections.
