He is depicted as riding an eagle, Garuda, with his wife Lakshmi, the goddess of love, beauty, happiness and prosperity.
Vishnu is depicted with four arms, in which he holds a trumpet shell, a lotus flower, a discus and a club.
Avataras: According to the Hindus who believe in avataras (incarnations of God).
Vishnu comes to earth ten times, in ten forms or avataras, to save the world.
Nine avataras have already taken place, the tenth is yet to come.
