Jarenlang stond de Citroën DS vooral bekend als ‘de snoek’ maar inmiddels noemen liefhebbers deze unieke klassieker weer steeds meer bij de officiële modelnaam. Dat neemt niet weg dat deze Fransoos een eigen hoofdstuk verdient in ieder boek dat over klassieke auto’s gaat. Van de eerste serie met enkele koplampen tot de latere versies met de verlichting achter glas: de DS was zijn tijd vér vooruit waardoor het ook vandaag de dag nog een genot is om naar te kijken en mee onderweg te zijn.

De beige kleurige DS  die u hier ziet is een auto waarmee u direct de weg op wilt voor mooie ritten. Als er één auto is die geheel eigen rijeigenschappen heeft dan is het de DS wel en dan is deze krachtige ook nog eens een zeer geliefde uitvoering. De DS verkeert in een uitstekende staat en leent zich enorm voor veel prettig gebruik.

De carrosserie van de DS is netjes. De lak is keurig en heeft een mooie glans. Een DS kenmerkt zich in het algemeen niet als auto met zeer dunne naden tussen het glad vormgegeven plaatwerk maar bij deze DS mag alles als ‘normaal bij een DS’ worden bestempeld. Het aluminium en het chroom is in een keurige conditie.

Het interieur past qua kleur prachtig bij de Beige lakkleur: chocoladebruine lederen bekleding. Erg mooi en fraai en met prachtig patina zoals we dat bij een DS graag zien.

Verder is het interieur geheel intact. Als u plaatsneemt in de fauteuils merkt u gelijk wat een DS speciaal maakt. Niet alleen is de hydraulische vering een typisch kenmerk, de zachte stoelen zijn dat ook. Voor u het karakteristieke dashboard van de DS, met drie grote ronde meters en het stuur met slechts één spaak. Het gehele interieur laat zich omschrijven als ‘keurig’, waarbij er best te zien is dat de auto gebruikt is.

De viercilinder is een bekende krachtbron onder DS-liefhebbers.  In 1970 werd de DS  standaard uitgerust met Bosch elektronisch injectie en daarmee was het één van de eerste auto’s voor de ‘massa’ die het zonder carburateurs af kon. De versie met carburatie bleef nog een tijd leverbaar en is de variant die u hier ziet. De DS op deze pagina is uitgerust met een handgeschakelde versnellingsbak met vier versnellingen. 

Geheel passend bij de rest van de auto is ook de bodem in een goede staat. Er zijn op het oog geen werkzaamheden uitgevoerd en die zijn ook niet nodig: op gebruikssporen na is deze als ‘goed’ te bestempelen.

Deze DS mag u eigenlijk niet missen als u opzoek bent naar één van de meest comfortabele klassiekers die er is en gewoon lekker wilt rijden.
