Arturo Panunzio nasce nel 1891 a Campobasso, si stabilisce a Milano dall'inizio degli anni '20. Abilissimo modellatore, si dedica con assiduità alla produzione di modelli per varie ceramiche lombarde, divenendo noto per la serie delle Madonne devozionali capoletto delle quali crea numerose varianti, rispondendo ad una richiesta molto sentita all'epoca di immagini devozionali. Sempre di altissima qualità formale, le sue opere si differenziano dalla modesta produzione corrente coeva. Muore nel 1953.
