Fabulous Amphora Vase with Lid and handles, produced by Herend - “ Indian Basket Collection “, multicolour, extremely rare, in excellent to pristine condition. This magnificent Amphora Vase is a complex model, well known hand painted pattern, marvelous sculpted handles, heavily gilded, and a lovely cover lid, a masterpiece itself, with relief porcelain. It is marked and numbered on the back of the base with Herend shield stamp. Herend First Choice. The Indian Basket pattern is perhaps Herend’s most classical design. One of the most elaborated monochromatic pattern. Introduced in the 1850s, this pattern's original name was "East Indies Flowers". Much of the Oriental porcelain exported to Europe was shipped via East Indian companies, and the Eastern influence is further reflected in the Japanese-style arrangements portrayed here. This is a piece for the most pretentious collectors, in excellent to pristine condition, marked with blue Herend 150 Years Cellebration shield mark and numbered. NO chips, NO cracks, NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description. Hungary 1976.
