With a crouching winged figure holding a kind of patera in the right hand and a mirror in the left; a wavy band around the bottom, laurel on the neck and a large palmette under the handle; the knob-shaped lid has a female head in profile on the left.
In Greek pottery, a jug with a high handle is called an olpe. The olpe has a similar function to the oinchoe but differs from it in that it is taller than it is wide. It also has a smooth rim, as opposed to the trilobed rim of the oinochoe, and a high handle that often rises characteristically above the rim of the oinchoe.
Provenance: French private collection C. R. / Galería Félix Cervera, Barcelona, September 2023
