A very fine antique italian 4/4 violin, labeled Carlo Antonio Testore figlio maggiore del fu Carlo Giuseppe in Contrada larga al fegno dell'Aquila Milano 1737. The instrument is in ready to play condition with no cracks. The violin has an excellent high grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of not flamed maple with matched sides, neck and scroll. Very rich golden amber color varnish. The whole length of the violin is 590 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 160 mm; middle bouts: 108 mm; lower bouts: 198 mm. The sound is very good, powerful, sweet, rich, suitable for soloist. Shipping worldwide insured.
